In Salem, Massachusetts, the Tennysons dress up like pilgrims to honor the history of the city. Ben doesn't like to wear the clothes he is now, and he frequently complains about it. When a nearby building explosion occurs, Ben transforms to Stinkfly to help out the people who are trapped in the fire. Ben meets Charmcaster shortly after, who chants a spell that exchanges the soul between two bodies. Before she could swap hers with Ben to take control of the Omnitrix, Gwen pushes Ben out of the magical bubble that held him within. This mistakenly swaps Gwen's body with Charmcaster instead.
