Ben becomes accustomed with his new powers, and this time, he uses it to save a child and parent at a burning building. Meanwhile, Gwen and Grandpa Max come along, and give him more bad news. In addition, there is a mad scientist roaming around the city of Washington, D.C. with a device that can fiddle around with both living and dormant cells of animals. Ben, Gwen, and Grandpa Max encounter the mad scientist at the M-Mart, and without the help of a hero, they chase him down to the Museum of Natural History. Many more problems arise when Gwen is taken away by a giant mutant bird. The scientist is caught and restrained from getting the "award he deserves", and Ben learns of a very important lesson: you don't always get what you think you might deserve, though you will earn something more than what you want to possess.
