Phil is Grandpa Max's old friend from the old days, when he was still working in the group called the Plumbers. Grandpa Max finished off their work when they encountered Vilgax years ago, and it has been dry of work ever since. Max is retired, though when they meet with each other again, it seems that he continues the work he enjoys. He offers his old partner to form an alliance they once had, though Max suspects that Phil has something up his sleeve. Max confirms that Phil is the one to blame for the recent alien attacks. By using the Null Void Projector, he opens up the portal to the other dimension to release alien life. He captures them again to make money, fooling others into thinking him as the alien hunter he once was.
