Captain Shaw is an experienced fisherman. However, his primary goal is to pursue and capture the Krakken, a beast that roams in the lake in which he fishes, so that his claim will be verified as true. Ben believes his story about the giant monster, though in the end, he still is unable to capture such a beast.
